
从3月份着手新学年外教招聘,到8月中旬招聘结束,在此过程中,我们通过国际网站、与海外高校及国外政府机构合作等方式,收到应聘简历1163份,进行了近万封电子邮件交流,电话面试197次,对有意续签的外教进行公开课选拔,最终筛选出12名优秀新入职外教和7名续签外教,组建成今年的北京新东方扬州外国语学校的外教队伍。
在这19名国际老师中,绝大多数是有多年教学经验的外教老师。其中有5名在本土即为数学、音乐老师,有11名有TESOL或TEFL(对外英语教师资格证书),学历要求为本科或本科以上。在8月底开学前,我们又特地从加拿大请来著名TESOL培训专家Stacey,对所有外教再次进行岗前培训。校长王修文博士也多次从百忙之中抽时间,与外教亲切交流,提出建议和要求。
在上学期,我们完成了对学校外教教学校本教材及教学大纲的更新完善;在教学模式上,我们在加强常规教学的基础上,将突出各年级口语特色班的建设,在小学部推出中外英语老师合作教学课程,促进中外英语老师教学的融合。在管理制度上,我们更新了外教合同,细化了教学常规和考核制度;在管理结构上,我们采用责任到人,分块管理,总体协调的模式。由外教教学总负责人Cathy分管1、2、6年级教学,由副主管Gyu负责3、4、5年级教学,由Corey负责初高中教学,由国际部总体协调考核。
从对师资的严格筛选、精心培训到制度的完善、管理的加强,一切都旨在提高学校外教教学质量。希望我们的不断努力,能使学校的外教教学更上一个台阶。而我们的各位外籍老师们也在磨拳擦掌,希望在新的学年里给大家新的惊喜。

1 Cathy (外教总负责人)

It is my honour to serve the New Oriental Group as the Director of all the International Teachers. I come fromCanadaand have taught oral English inChinafor three years. I have a son and a daughter and have always been involved in the education system since they started school. My experience and expertise comes from being a Mother, President of the local Day Care, and Secretary and Vice President of the Parent/Teacher Associations for both the Elementary and High Schools in theProvinceofManitoba. I also have attained an International English Teacher License in TESOL, TEFL and TESL and specialization certificates in teaching children, adults and tutoring. I have also worked in the Health Care System and have been a strong supporter of my community and church as Chairperson of many different committees.
It is my love of children and concern for their education that drew me to this position. I want to thank Dr. Wang for trusting me to promote and build a strong English program for the students of theNewOrientalForeignLanguageSchoolin
